Nice you found my old PP Melee shot, but that's obviously not any of my my ho- er, Hog shots... and BC is off playing Duke Nukem, MD after the biggest upgrade to Mac Halo since it came out?!
Here I am, slaving over a hot burner, trying to edit shots and get to the Post Office to mail screenie CDs to arrive by Xmas... and this is my thanks?!

The overall screenshot picture should start to come together very soon... at last.

sarge in a ghost has a nasty habit of running me over... rather like a marine gunner in a 'hog machine-gunning through my tank to hit someone in front of me and killing me... makes legendary just that much more enjoyable

I win.
Indeed...No pixellation, of course FSAA on the HUD, and no sexiness for you
I'm going to try a few more resolutions tomorrow and see if it clears up. Maybe I'll do a few runs at 4xFSAA too. 6x? I think so
Supersampling? yes. Wow, you just can't beat those smooth lines...no siree...dem smooth lines be verry sexay

I'm trying to figure that one out. I'm using the Halo 2 skin, but it has a green color so that can't be it. I'm thinking that profile settings might have a say here.
1280x1024 is the Devil's res, you know. Non-square pixels.
True, but it's my native desktop res and I switch from Halo to other apps often. When I quit Halo all the other apps are all screwed up. [/excuse]

Me need bigger monitor, too. Recently saw Halo benched at 2048x1536.
Me can't afford a $600 monitor

GE, one thing I don't think got pointed out in that last shot is the active reflections seen on the floor. Since the 'Shee isn't normally there, I think TwistedGuy can put your screenshot in his pipe and smoke it.

Ear once pointed out that the real, active reflections are only in a few spots, like the Control Tower and Silent Cartographer, but I have been imagining TG trying the patch and being all conflicted until he finally blocked out the new content and re-reached the same old conclusions. Nothing must threaten Metroidal Superioritudiness... ness.

Holy crap Bat, I didn't know she was that bad, it's was so prolonged, too. I hope you can feel a little better knowing that we're here for you, and that your mom's in a better place. If there's anything I can do, let me know, you know how to get in touch.
Thanks, Zander

Thanks, GE, all. I didn't know either, and it wasn't supposed to be. She was only there to rebuild her strength, but then something happened.
The latest is that my brother called a little earlier and suggested cremation and minimum expense; being after Xmas they wouldn't be able to help with funeral expenses... that's a bit much to swallow, since his wife is a doctor, they included a picture of the latest win by daughter Emily astride her show-winning horse, and disability doesn't stretch very far- the computer stuff has only been possible by living at home and not spending on other vices (also selling old stuff, mostly before buying new).
I guess show horses and stabling come free in AL...
I mentioned it in passing in the Officer's Forum, and CaptKevMan started a condolence thread (thanks Kev). Since most of you don't have access, this is what I wrote overnight after composing myself a little more (this will probably clarify a few things for those who haven't been around since Day One):
Thanks all... I've spent the last 2 1/2 years in the family home, caring for my Dad after two falls/blows to the left temple revealed and greatly accelerated his undiagnosed Alzheimer's, and my mother after his 9/03 passing got her into a revolving door of hospital, rehab, home and back again. She had been out since early August and we thought that perhaps she was improving, but she never fully regained her will to live. The quick succession of the cancer diagnosis and passing of the family friend who'd been helping us with shopping and errands since Dad's illness started pushing us beyond our combined limits, coinciding with 7-10 days of solid overcast, apparently so worsened her spirits that she nearly stopped eating. She was due in to the doctor of a Thursday, but the night before she weakened beyond being able to walk on crutches with my help... she went in to hospital, but nothing was found beyond weight and strength loss. While in rehab she came over very sick very rapidly, apparently having caught some infection in the very place she went for help. I was not immediately informed.
Christmas 6AM Rehab called saying she had had labored breathing all night and was going back, half an hour later the hospital called to say she had severe pneumonia and I had better come in... when I got there it had raced thru her, shutting down organ after organ. She never regained consciousness and measures were withdrawn. The event was called at 8:50AM.
I've come to thoroughly hate irony... the house I grew up in now seems very empty except for reminders of past joys, never to come again. Had I the means I would take a long rest and heal my soul, but my own medical issues bode only continued struggle. Our affairs are in disarray, and no time is left to order them. We had discussed needed changes to the will, but that is now set in stone and will be executed as written.
Both parents, Dad's only brother, two close friends and a loved family pet in such a short time... the pace only seems to accelerate. Value what and whom you have; they will be gone all too quickly.
I'm not sure just what I believe these days except that Mom and Dad are together again somewhere. Any other conclusion seems insupportable. This at least is a comfort... the hunter home from the hills, the sailor home from the sea. Rest in peace, my parents; your work is done.
