Given the two choices at hand I'd go with Quizno's.  The black angus sandwich is very good, imho.

Back when I lived in Tennessee there were restaurants that sold sandwiches they called "grinders."  There's a story as to why they're called that, but I forgot it.  Anyway, they were really good.

Jersey Mike's is probably the best of the chain sub shops.

But my favorite is definitely Capriotti's.  They have this sandwich called the "Bobbie," that has turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce and mayonnaise.  It is the one of the best sandwiches I've ever had the pleasure of eating.  They're sort of a chain, but not with the number of locations of a Subway, Quizno's or Jersey Mike's.

There's no contest for me. Quiznos is 100x better.

I used to eat at Subway. Their "sandwich artists" are very skilled at sculpting a single olive into twenty small pieces. Don't believe me? Ask for olives some time.

Quiznos food seems to be of much higher quality, and it's not bland. Subway is very bland, IMHO.

There's a Subway two blocks from my home, and the closest Quiznos is several miles away, and even if I were starving, I'd head to Quiznos any day.

I'll be happy if Jimmy John's goes out of business. I'd smurfing love that. 

however I've eaten both, I find Subways how standwiches to be teh awesome. but if I'm just getting a cold sandwich then I'll rather get Big Mikes which is around several midwest campuses.

I loves me a BMT at Subway . . . I will eat at Quiznos, but I prefer Subway . . .

I have not tried the toasted Subway sammich . . .

Schlotsky's isn't bad either.

Now if we throw Schlotsky's in the Mix there is no sammich better, IMCO . . .

I've been to Quizno's a couple of times.  They're ok, but they seemed more expensive and I wasn't overly impressed.

Tried Schlotzsky's once.   

Subway is toasting their sandwiches now?  When did this happen?

The press release on their web site about it is dated Nov 16, 2004, so that's probably a good estimate.  There may have been a few locations that were doing it earlier as a market test.

Back on the first page of this thread, someone made a comment about how Subway cuts their bread.  If you're referring to the old "V" cut, they stopped that a few years ago.  They do a more conventional slice down the middle now.

If you like the V cut they still do it though . . .

The ones who know how, anyway.   

I rather go to a real deli. I'm not big fan of wonder bread french rolls or mystery deli meats.

I know we've talked about this before, but I've never had a problem with Subway skimping on ingredients. Interestingly enough, when I was at Quiznos the guy there actually weighed out the meat he was putting on my sandwich.

I'll reserve final judgement on the blandness until I've tried one or two other sandwiches at Quiznos, but the chicken one I had was absolute plain jane.

What makes you think the deli meat is any less of a mystery at a real deli?

And how those crazy little hamsters in their commercials were great!

funnnily enough, living in NYC whenever I think of Subways I always think of huge rats that are always crawling around on the tracks. And Subways are dirty as hell. The last place I would want to eat a sandwhich is on the subway, even worse if teh sandwhich was made in the subway. So what's worse a cartoon rat, or a place that has rats up the wazoo to associate with food.

But rats are tasty!  Well, if you prepare them right.  I recommend a brown sauce.  Kung pao rat has never done me wrong.
