UT 2003 and UT 2004 compability

Just wondering if Unreal Tournament 2003 models are compatible with 2004...cause you know, I've seen some nice models for the old version and I'd like to use them. However, I fear that installing 2003 models on 2004 may screw up my game somehow.

Also, I have been looking for a good tutorial to make skins on Mac, but I have found no results. Any ideas?

Re: UT 2003 and UT 2004 compability

I've heard of some working and some not. From what I've seen 2K3 models should be updated for 2K4. This can be as easy as just opening the model in UEd 3, rebuild, and re-saving (much like some 2K3 maps).

Many folks are useing Maya PLE & Photoshop for their mapping, skinning and modeling needs. Which is cool if you're on a Mac. The catch is at some point the files have to be exported and opened in UEd 3. Have any PC buddies? wink

Hey, I play on a PC.  If someone gives me a Maya model of Max or something like that, i'll turn it into a playable character big_smile

Thanks, I've been trying on installing some models, and most work. I wonder if the mods would, too, there's some nice total conversion mods for UT2003.

Also, I guess UEd 3 is some kind of Unreal editing programme for PC? Oh, well, I can survive without making my own skins.

I don't have any model of Max, but there is this other Max...

Could someone attempt to make it playable for UT2k4? It's not working, and it's probably the best exported model ever.

Yeah, I know, the stick figure that would be very hard to hit. Plus, I don't want to see poor Max exploding. Well, I don't want to see poor Max Payne either, but it would be really cool to play with that model.

Re: UT 2003 and UT 2004 compability

you could do the suit and tie max...

you'd also have to bring down the size of the head...

Re: UT 2003 and UT 2004 compability

I don't have any modelling programs, so I could hardly do something.

Do you think you could adapt the Max Payne skin to UT2004, please? If it's just saving on a different format, and you play in PC, I guess you already have the stuff.
