MA3 Akimbo Style?
For some holiday fun I thought of installing this mod. It allows players to dual weild almost all the weapons (Shield, LG & SN are left out).

that would certainly increase the carnage levels to something quite possibly immeasurable.

'deemer?
Spirit was crushed; now is fading, But I want to help make things right.
Because I can see and I can feel, and you can see and you can feel
So why don't we both either stand up and fight
Or at least together we'll call it a night.

Re: MA3 Akimbo Style?
D'oh there is a version 2 that I missed. This would be the one we install if we do this.

And, no, no dual deemers you sick bastard. That is just plain wrong!
You could/can have the deemer in one hand and a different weapon in the other.

Re: MA3 Akimbo Style?
I'm gonna have to undo it. I think it's causing issues with mapvote. Shucks!

Re: MA3 Akimbo Style?
Well you guys tell me.
Here's the issue both Doc and I have seen it.
After the vote, your screen says ONS-DryIce, even tho that isn't what was voted on. Then you hang there forever if you're lucky an F10 gets you out and you just need to reconnect after that all is well. If you're not lucky a force quit of 2K4 is in order.
Our options are:
1) Leave as is and just deal with the F10s and force quits.
2) Take off the mod.
3) Take off Mapvote and just use map rotation. We'd be stuck with one game type.
I had a ball with the bots and the mod over the weekend. I'd hate to see it go too, but...
Maybe Doc and I are the only ones seeing this issue. I guess that is possible too. I'll leave it alone for now until we get more feedback.

I'd seen that issue on other servers. Its quite irritating. I'd rather do without the mod than put up with freezes like that.

Re: MA3 Akimbo Style?
Odd I haven't. Maybe it's not the mod then.

Re: MA3 Akimbo Style?
It may not be that mod. Now that I think of it, I had that problem before the latest Mac patch and not after.

Re: MA3 Akimbo Style?
Well I think the best thing to do is take down the mod and see if all gets better. It is not just DryIce that tries to load. The other night HoG was coming up as the load even though another map was voted. I even entered HoG once without crashing and found bots playing but was like a spectator unable to do anything. When I forced out of UT then brought it back up the browser reported HoG as running but when I joined I was in the map I had voted for earlier. This whole episode makes me wonder if two instances of UT2K4 were running.?????

Re: MA3 Akimbo Style?
I've seen the same oddness with mapvote, but not on any other servers. Maybe the mod should go for a while and we can see if it's really the cause.

Re: MA3 Akimbo Style?
You had it running two times concurrently? Uh, wouldn't that require two separate installations? Does this mean you need to go clean up the UT folder(s)?

Re: MA3 Akimbo Style?
...
You would think, but evidently you don't.
There is a full install on MA3, not the dedicated server. Sometimes when web admin isn't working right it's just easier to launch the game and do the settings there. That is what I had done when I installed the mod. Well at some point after the .bat script got launched too. The .bat script is what launches automagicly after a reboot. Come to think of it one does not need multi installs to run multiple games. You can make .bat files to manage different multiple games.
Well I'm glad we got that sorted before the holidays.
