Re: Halo patch released (Dec 16, 2004)

Let me be the first to say "w00t!"

This does look nice... (less point to my sending out a bazillionbytes of screens, but this does look like the whole ball o' wax).  shrug
****
In case it's not clear, this appears strongly like Mac Halo is finally on par with PC Halo. Users of ATi 9600 and better cards are in for a real treat.

Prepare to see Halo as it should look. up

Re: Halo patch released (Dec 16, 2004)

I'm getting much nice shield effects on Elites I've noticed.  Hard to say what is from the OpenGL update of 10.3.7 and what is from the 1.0.5 Halo patch.  I didn't look at Elite shields after updating my OS.

Anyway I'm patched and ready to go!

Strange..  The HUD and the text stuff seem lighter than normal.
Let me get some screens up.

Re: Halo patch released (Dec 16, 2004)

The shield effects are from the 1.5 update, not the 10.3.7 update.

Yeah, every thing seems to be brighter, hard to read messages and stuff now...

I'm going to test out the differences between Advanced Pixel Shaders and Pixel + Vertex shaders now...

Re: Halo patch released (Dec 16, 2004)

rasterizer_fps 1 (I noticed it doesn't work with some MP games)

You can hit ` (tilde) , then hit tab to view all console commands.

Okay, one of the differences i have seen is that Lens Flare doesn't kill my fps as much as it normally does, here are two screenshots of a difference I saw that I like:

Normal Pixel+Vertex shaders

Advanced Pixel Shaders

You'll see more difference in the SP stuff. The more challenging shader stuff was kept out of the MP levels.

If I hurry, maybe there's still good reason to send my screens out. A guy can hope.

No Shadows, GE? That's fine for MP, but...

Anyone have any information on the weird "no text shadow" thing?  It's getting annoying, as I can barely make out what it's saying.
