Transferring programs
One of the Win98 boxes at my work was just attacked by a virus and had it's hard drive corrupted. The main program that's used in it still works fine, however. The software ONLY works in Win98, and the install floppy disk (it's an old program) has been lost.
What are the chances that simply copying the Program folder to a new PC would work? Is there any way of finding out which files/DLL are associated with a particular program besides the ones in the Apllication Folder?
To make matters more complicated, it is an image analysis program that uses a frame grabber. The drivers can probably be downloaded from the manufactureer, but I have no idead if that will be enough.
Ideas?

Re: Transferring programs
Copy the program folder over to another win98 machine and create new shortcuts etc. If running it pops up information on missing DLL's, make a note of what they are, and copy them over from the bad machine, mirroring their original locations. You may have to do this a few times for each susequent missing file. You will then have the program copied over. But since it's an older program, it may work straight away.
