FTP issues in GoLive

Does anyone else get random error messages and timeouts using the ftp client in GoLive 5/6?  Seems like I get them frequently, with multiple servers.  I could use fetch or the terminal command line but I'd rather not.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Re: FTP issues in GoLive

When you're viewing the details of one of your FTP servers in GoLive's ftp manager, try going to the "Advanced" section and disabling "Passive FTP".  Sounds like that might work.

Re: FTP issues in GoLive

I also find that with some servers I have to turn off the built in firewall in OSX for GoLive FTP to work. For some reason some servers just don't like it. But that is a very small number.

Turning on or off passive mode is the general fix for FTP issues though. But I did have a server error on me last night that had been working perfectly with passive mode turned on, but something changed and I had to then turn it off.
Thpt!

So, just when did this place get Private Messages? YIKES!
