Re: Desktop thread
Mars. My menu desktop at work. It's a two-monitor system. My other monitor just has a soothing color.
Here's a bigger version.
At home I have naked British tarts changing every 5 seconds.
Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.
Unless you become as little children, there's no way you will believe this crap.

you don't know??
I don't know either.
THUNDERCATS! HO!
Did some say Thundercats. Yes they are very cool. Do you have that background anymore, it would be nice to have that. I miss that show. THUNDERCATS! HO!........
I think i have the background. i need to check. i know i had it in the Mac at the office, but i'll check. the original desktop didn't have the blue-glowing Thundercats logo. i did that in photoshop. still, if i find the original, i'll try to recreate it.

Re: Desktop thread
My apologies for the slightly un-desktoppy image. I typed (for a laugh, you understand) rm -r / into the Terminal and hit Control D. The result? 10 minutes to delete my entire system, right before my eyes, kids!, and 4 hours to get my PowerBook back up and running - which I though was quite good considering the amount of crap I've got. Praise be to the Lord Miglia for Firewire drives, and to the God DVD-R, and the Mighty iSync. Thank you all.
Anyhoo...

I had a Panther theme when I had my PC, but didn't look half that good.

Apple key+shift+3, then open the file and go to file, then to export. Export it as a jpg.
EDIT: I neglected to say that it saves the file to the desktop.
ANOTHER EDIT: I didn't notice the question about the FTP programs. I use a program called RBrowser Lite. You can find it on

Re: Desktop thread
Depends how long you've been using Apple's computers. They're called Open Apple keys on Apple II's and Command keys on Macs. They had Closed Apple keys on Apple II's (The Apple is filled instead of an outline).

Grab is a pretty good utility for grabbing screenshots. It should be in your utility folder. Versiontracker also has one called GrabMac. Can't vouch for the latter, though.

Re: Desktop thread
For Screenshots
I usually copy my screen to the clipboard with Apple+Shift+Control+3 and then use EasyCrop to get a thumbnail image ready and see how big of a file my screenshot is and drag both to the desktop.
For FTP
Then I use CyberDuck to upload my thumbnail and screenshot to my Earthlink space. Very simple to use and works quite well.
