Re: Desktop thread

What do you mean the way I did it? Something wrong with this forum. I ALWAYS do URL IMG (image) /IMG /URL

I just checked some other peoples code (Hit Quote to see it) and it was URL URL (image) /URL /URL

Which is illogical. But it was working. I'm so confused. I miss phpBB! It didn't have stupid bugs like this.

Here's the code I get when I quote Lord Funk's dual screen post:

Code:

[quote=lord funk][url]http://www.uwm.edu/People/kdschlei/brdeskl.jpg[/url]___[url]http://www.uwm.edu/People/kdschlei/brdeskr.jpg[/url]Normally I don't like Bryce landscapes, but this one fits my mood.

Top_of_the_Mornin_to_Ya__by_rabidmongoose.jpg from deviantart.com[/quote]

The forum is screwed up! That should be IMG! Not URL! But it works! When I type it right, it doesn't work. Now it is. What happened? A hiccup?

Edit: Oh, and here's whay YOURS looks like, smarty pants.

Code:

[quote=ABigSmall][url]http://home.socal.rr.com/jesh/mountain.jpg[/url][/quote]

Re: Desktop thread

Um...  What would be the point in adding the extra URL tag?  (or IMG tag, depending on how you look at it)

[EDIT]Surprisingly, I, Mr. Smarty Pants, wrote in [img]image URL[/img] in my post.

And the reason why it turns it into URL tags when you quote it, is because images in quotes were disabled.  Got it?

Re: Desktop thread

HERE is whaty my code is above. In my last screenshot:

Code:

[url=http://jasoco.no-ip.com/data/ss/full/2005-02-06.jpg][img]http://jasoco.no-ip.com/data/ss/thumb2/2005-02-06.jpg[/img]
My first Mac mini fully custom shot.[/url]

As you can see, it is perfectly correct. Yet, when I post it, it does not work... for ME. For everyone else, it does. WTF?

Re: Desktop thread

Misunderstanding.  I was referring to this "I ALWAYS do URL IMG (image) /IMG /URL"
I was asking why you added the extra URL tags around the IMG tags.

[EDIT]Just read your recent post.

Everyone else isn't adding an extra URL tag around their IMG tag.

Re: Desktop thread

What? You can't put images in URL's? Is that some sort of no-no?

Edit: Yep. Looks like it. Well.. that's bullpants. Really. Seriously. No other forum does that! Why this one? Is it something GUI willingly turned on, or is it a forum software limitation?

Re: Desktop thread

What are you trying to do?
Are you trying to make a picture link to a bigger picture?
Make text link to your picture?

Re: Desktop thread

The first one. A Picture in a link links to a bigger version. The way it should be. Haley did it. Why can't I?

Re: Desktop thread

It works.  Just don't add "My first Mac mini fully custom shot."

Add that AFTER the closing of the URL tag.

Re: Desktop thread

No it doesn't. It turns into text:
http://jasoco.no-ip.com/data/ss/thumb2/2005-02-06.jpg

I just want an IMG to link to a bigger one. The way it works on every other forum that ever existed doesn't work on this one.

Re: Desktop thread

Try the exact same thing except with different images.
The image you're trying to use seem to be not on the server.

Re: Desktop thread

Ah HA! So.. the forum is actually smart enough to know that? I moved the images earlier. I forgot I did. But I was expecting at least a blue ? to showup. But the forum somehow checks for the image's existence first?

I still love this icon set.

The Dock on the left as usual is hidden by click of mouse button 5.. or 8.. or whatever. Color is gone.

I forget where the desktop is from. It's customized as are all my currently rotating images to fit my screen.

The Theme is Milk and Chocolate.

Photograph of my computer on my website. Updated version is now there.
