Wireless or bluetooth mouse for graphic designer?

I am thinking of handing over a considerable amount of money for a kick ass cordless mouse, but I am not sure whether to go RF or BT.  shrug

I need something thats going to be very accurate with a small lag time. (I use Photoshop and Illustrator constantly.) Also i dont have Bluetooth built in to my g5 so I need to be able to get an adapter that will work with said mouse and Panther.

Any feedback either way would be a great help. big_smile

Re: Wireless or bluetooth mouse for graphic designer?

you may not be looking for a keyboard too, but i have this combo at home on my G5:

i love both pieces. it is an ergonomic (split key) keyboard- but i'm into that. i've gotten great performance out of it, and the thumb button makes a great expose trigger.

blue tooth. the adapter is only $30. it's got good range, and there are no 'line-of-sight' issues.

i just bought the kensington pilot mouse optical wireless. Took and out and tried it. I cant live with the amount of skipping and jumping it has. Maybe i'll just go with the logitech mx510 and learn to live with the cord. shrug

I hate that the new Logitech laser mouse is cordless only. I might get one if they come out with a corded model.

I've got an RF Logitech cordless and I always end up putting it away and using my old Kensington corded mouse because of the stuttering.

Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.

Re: Wireless or bluetooth mouse for graphic designer?

I just replaced an MX700 at home with a MX510. Now, the odd thing is - I used the MX700 on a PeeCee (for gaming no less) and never really noticed any lag or stuttering. Brought the MX700 into work, using on the G4 and it's kinda "slow" in every day use.

shrug

Buyer beware I s'pose.

If you installed the software that came with that mouse, uninstall it and see if that helps. I had an issue with my Kensington until I did just that.

I realize you probably already bought a new mouse, I am just posting this for future reference.

I just use the Apple Bluetooth mouse. But I'm one of those strange people that actually prefers a single button mouse.
