Re: Best Movie Moment Ever!!

In Raising Arizona John Goodman and Nicholas Cage have a hilarious fight scene, the best moment of which is when Cage lifts both fists to hit Goodman on the head, but as he raises his hands he scrapes them on the cheap house's stucco ceiling and screams in agony.

Of course the best moment in the movie is probably when Goodman's partner is getting diapers for the baby (and robbing the store at the same time).

Eulle: You know how to put these on?
Grocer: Well, around the butt and over the groin area.
Euelle: Do I need pins or something?
Grocer: They got them tape-ettes already on there. It's self-contained and fairly explanatory.

[Euelle picks up a pack of balloons]
Euelle: Do these blow into funny shapes and all?
Grocer: Well, no, unless round is funny.

After he robs the place and gets into the car:

Euelle: I got me some baby grub, baby wipes, diapers, then disposable kind. I also got a package of balloons.
Gale: They blow up into funny shapes and all?
Euelle: No, just circular.

Awesome movie.

This flashback sequence just kicks my ass, and I don't even smoke weed!

Brian: First of all, to understand how Killer the Dog died, you have to understand who Killer the Dog was. Now Killer was born to a three-legged bitch terrier, and he was always ashamed of it, man.

But then comes this man, Stein, a promotion guy and dog fighting coach and he buys Killer and you know what? soon Killer is good, damn good. But then, he's put up against his brother, Nibbles. And Killer is like, "Hey, man, I can't fight my own brother!" But he had to fight him anyway. And Killer killed Nibbles.

So that's it, then Killer started calling off all his fights, he started smoking crack and then he just lost his mind, until his heart just stopped and his tired body collapsed. Wow.

Thurgood: You know, I never thought I'd say this, but you have been smoking entirely too much reefa.

Re: Best Movie Moment Ever!!

I have a soft spot for the scene when Boromir gets killed in the first LOTR - I don't know why I find that so moving.

I also like the scene in "Son in Law" where Pauly Shore gets punched in the face and he starts crying and says "why did you do that?"

I like the scene where you find out that Andy Dufresne escaped in The Shawshank Redemption. (even though I had read the book when I first saw it, it still had a great impact)

Last, I'll have to pick when Stanley Spedowsky sees his mop again in UHF. (MY MOP!!!)

Re: Best Movie Moment Ever!!

Wow, so many good ones in this thread already. Great job, all!

One that comes to mind:

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Indy, disguised as a Nazi soldier, tries to make his way through the crowd at a rally, only to come face-to-face with Hitler himself while holding his father's book (the very key to finding the Holy Grail!). Hitler stops and glares an icy stare toward Our Hero, while he stares back nervously. The anticipation builds as we wonder what is going to happen, when Hitler snatches the book from Indy's hand, autographs it, and hands it back.

This scene is near perfection, because we already know the characters, and we're expecting the worst. The filmmakers masterfully dismiss Hitler's egotism as a trait that cost him his prize.

wow, that's weird.  Amazon lists it as being released in Feb 2005.  IMDB lists that it came out in 2001.  Maybe it is a new edition.  The features don't look all that special so it doesn't seem like a "collectors edition" or "platinum edition" or something.  weird.  Best Buy says it came out in 99.  Maybe Amazon just hasn't sold it or something.

Re: Best Movie Moment Ever!!

The scene from Fellowship of The Ring when Gandolf falls. That almost made me cry the first time I saw it and gives me goose-bumps when I watch it now.
Same in the third one when Pippin sings. Holy smurf thats a amazing scene.
There are alot of scenes like that in the three movies.

That and the beach scene from Saving Private Ryan. That was disturbing and incredible at the same time.

Peanuts!

No idea when mine came out, but I got it for Christmas last year.  The "special features" are widescreen, some language selector, and the theatrical trailer and TV spots.  Nothing big.
