Best SNES game?
Which game do you think was the one you just could not pry from your dead cold hands. My vote goes to Super Mario World. That game is just...something else...

Best game, hands down: Earthbound.
Or maybe Secret of Mana.

Re: Best SNES game?
Best SNES games in my opinion:
Super Metroid
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy IV (Japanese version)
Final Fantasy V
Final Fantasy VI
Zelda III
Street Fighter II Turbo*
Super Tennis
Breath of Fire
Breath of Fire II (Not as good as the original.)
Sim City (The only Sim game on any platform with excellent music. Unfortunately, the game is slow.)
Super Mario World
Super Mario All-Stars (The original NES games are better, though)
*The best fighting game on the SNES, but practically worthless when compared with Tekken 2 on PlayStation.
I've never played Earthbound, so I can't comment on it.
there's really no need for all of this

Re: Best SNES game?
You didn't include Chrono Trigger you bastard!
But Chrono Trigger, Super Mario World, and Street Fight 2 Turbo would have to be my Top 3. I have SMW, and SF2T, but only the PSX version of CT
Heh, coincidently I just beat SMW twice yesterday. All 96 levels, including the special zone

Re: Best SNES game?
I'm torn between super metroid and link to the past, but I chose link to the past.
All excellent games, however.
You know...just because modern consoles have the bandwidth to crank out 3D environments, doesn't mean all games have to be in 3D. I wish games like the ones on the SNES were still being developed.
NM...I forgot about the GBA

Link to the Past. The last great Zelda game for a console.

Yep. There is a lot to be said for 2D. I can't stand 3D platformer games like Spyro and Mario 64. I don't like Metroid Prime.
But, I'm not anti-3D. I really liked the game Cybermorph on the Atari Jaguar. I was one of the few who bought a Jaguar when it came out, even though I figured it wouldn't do well in the market because it didn't have a huge company behind it. It was also $300. But, its graphics and sound were far better than the Genesis and SNES. It's unfortunate that the platform got very few decent games, and nothing truly. Cybermorph is very good. Tempest 2000 is very good. Atari Karts is good for kids, although somewhat bland. Alien Vs. Predator is nice if you're into that sort of game. I've heard Rayman is good. But, the system was saddled with a lot of mediocre and awful games. It's unfortunate that its potential wasn't realized. The controllers were really comfortable. They were actually designed for adult hands, unlike the horrible controllers for systems like the GameCube. But, the PlayStation controller is still the only one that's decent for fighting games, and it's more precise than really any other controller. (I don't like analog joysticks, and I use the original PlayStation controller.) The PlayStation controller's directional button gave me blisters, though.

...Harvest Moon...
Absolutely.
The thing that rocked with that game was that you could do non-action things (like pick stuff up) as much as you wanted, and night never ended, so I'd spend like 25 minutes just running across the huge estate and pick all the weeds and move all the rocks so that I have a nice, organized farm.
But, that game rox0red. Absolutely.
All the new ones for the 64 PS2 and GC suck.
Save the Homeland is balls.

I only own and have played three:
Donkey Kong Country
Super Mario World
Super Mario Kart
Out of those three, I've had the most fun with Donkey Kong Country.

It's an anime thing, isn't it? Anything with "moon" in the title seems to invoke "Sailor Moon".

No, it's actually a game where you farm. I started to play it, but it too long to get started.
Also the #1 game is Chrono Trigger. I've had the flu for the past 5 days and decided to start playing it again. 25+ hours well spent when all you can do is sit in bed feeling miserable.
Oh, I've wasted my life.
