will airport cards work with an a.p. extreme base station?
where i work, we're gonna be getting some airport equipment and seeing how well it works for us. our first test systems are going to be three 466mhz ibooks, the colorful kind that look like imac cousins. we're gonna get three of the original airport cards, because i understand it as the extreme ones won't work on these ibooks. am i right about that one? also, will the original airport cards work with an airport extreme base station? we want this to be as "upgrade friendly" as we can make it, so we want to get the extreme base station instead of the original so we could use airport extreme cards with it in the future. please help me out here! i'm excited to get and start playing with this stuff, but i wanna make sure it'll all work before we do.

Re: will airport cards work with an a.p. extreme base station?
I believe the Extreme cards will only work in new Macs (different connection) , however the old Airport cards are compatible with the Extreme Base Station. The Station just throttles down from 54Mbps to 10Mbps. That's what sux about Extreme, you can get the new Base but only take advantage of the speed if you buy a new Mac.
