Hehe. I love plush carpets! You can see where everyone has walked and where chairs have been.

All the carpet downstairs (where the picture was taken) has now been replaced by 16"x16" ceramic tile. It still exists upstairs, though.

A good friend of my brother came up with that name. It is, of course, pronounced D-O-G, as if you were spelling dog. We thought it was creative.

You guys all have great pet pics. I wish one pic would get posted again, even though it's been posted a million times. The cocker that is catching the ball. I love that pic! I can't remember whose dog it is. Cynics maybe?

on a side note: Ist it just me, or do animals have bigger "Colored eye" problems?

They must have huge pupils. I've heard the red eye problem with people also has to do with pupil size, so maybe dogs have huge ones. By the way, the person that told me about the red eye thing and pupils has a wife that has normally large pupils and looks like the devil in most pictures.

Re: Post your pet's pic
I've never been able to get a good picture of our cat because she is so frightened of the camera. However, this may soon change. Tommorow I will finally get the newer digital camera I asked for for Christmas, a Canon Powershot A75. This will be the first time I've ever had a camera with actual zoom (previous cameras were a Polaroid, cheap disposeables, and two digital cameras that only had digital zoom which doesn't count).
I recently got a tripod and she was scared of it before I even attached a camera to it, but I've since taken an idea from professionals (not just photographers) who deal with animals. To get really close to an animal, professionals utilize great patience by getting near the animal and remaining very still for a very long time so the animal begins to become accustomed to their presence. What I've done is set up my adjustable tripod (24" to 61") in the living room (where she is much of the time) and just left it there for a few days. I started at the smallest size and made it one size bigger each day. By the second day she had already started walking under it which is a good sign. Today it is now at it's full size but my camera hasn't yet arrived. I will continue leaving it out there and in a few days I will attempt to take a picture; the camera will have been mounted in the tripod at least a day before I make the attempt. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I know; I saw that in the Samsung thread in Circuit Board and, in fact, posted about how I'm getting an A75 in there. My current camera is a Canon Powershot A200.
