OX.3 and win 98...
i have windows 98se hp. It is set up for my cable provider, but i'm using my Imac for the main computer now. but i want to hook up my G3 powerbook to the Hp if i have to bring in reports for school ect.. is there anyway i culd do that on a win 98 coputer? or would i have to upgrade to win 2k?

Have you tried using FTP? Just enable it in Sharing under System Preferences.

The HP and the iMac are connected to the ...router? What is the OS on your Mac's(Powerbook and iMac)? OS-X work's well with 98se. If their networked, you just need to tell it to connect to the 98se.

They are connected over a crossover cable. how would i tell my mac to connect to the HP?

In the finder tell it to Go->Connect to server. If it doesn't auto locate it type smb://[ip or comp name]/[drive or shared directory]
This assumes they are on the same network(can ping each other) and that the Mac is 10.x.x[10.2 for the auto locate]
