Base station as a bridge?

Say... if i bought a linksys 802.11g router and plugged it into my DSL, wold i be able to use my snow airport base station to as a sort of ethernet bridge that recieves the signal from the linksys and bridges it to my G4 via Ethernet. That way i can take the airport card thats currently in my G4 and put it in the ibook im getting. Can the airport do that?

Re: Base station as a bridge?

I'm not familiar enough with the airport basestation but I know that linksys sells a wireless bridge that I think you can either add to a hub or just plug into a wired connection.

One thing to keep an eye on, I think I read on cnet that if you use ANY 802.11b devices with an 802.11g router/basestation that all of your devices will step down to 802.11b performance!

Good luck!
