you misunderstood what I wrote. Apple said 50% of Apple retail store sales were to non-Mac users- nowhere did they say that they actually bought a computer! Apple said about 50% of iPods sold were to windows users. From this you can figure out that it is possible that 100% of the sales to PC users were iPods and not computers.
Apple Retail Stores are not the only place selling iPods.
There are other stores that sell iPods (CompUSA, Target, and the online Apple store to name a few).

Gandolf; I'm guessing you've got Roxio CD Creator installed, if so, get the latest updates from them to resolve the re-boot issue.
I tried to update but the update failed. Oh well. I removed Roxio and it seems to shut down now. Thanks for the tip.
