Re: 10.3.8 issues
I also had iShock X at one point in time....thought I had deleted all of those files. Guess not. All files deleted. I'm warning people to not install 10.3.8 until Apple releases a fix for this. Oh and btw, no loss in hard drive space a little under an hour after deleting the system.log file.

how is it apple's fault that a third party software fails.

Quite. One reason for my PowerBook being 'third party system altering' software free. Didn't anyone else figure this out at 10.2.3?

I wish I'd read my log before I deleted it. Anybody who has their log still... read it.

Re: 10.3.8 issues
No problems here. I repaired disk permissions before the update, and ran all the maintenance and cleaning scripts from OnyX (and repaired permissions again) after the update.

No problems here, and I haven't done permissions since last week. I'm running them now and there's a lot of stuff to be fixed.

Re: 10.3.8 issues
call 1 800 my apple asap, and they can help you with everything. when i first got this update, i then read this article as it was downloading. i quickly checked my memory, and it was gone. then when i restarted my computer (from the update), it was turning on, just not starting up for hours. i called apple, they had me reinstall mac os x, blah blah blah.... it took like an hour to do everything, but now my computer is working. how many people did some kind of major error happen to from this update??????

Re: 10.3.8 issues
I have a different problem...
I just installed it on my ibook and as it went for the reboot it stopped at a blue screen with a spinning pointy thing... not the beachball, the same thing it spins when it starts up. Anyway, it's just hanging there. Think it's safe to pull out the battery?

Whenever I try to bring up the print panel, no matter what app I'm in, the program unexpectedly quits. Does this happen for anyone else?

Re: 10.3.8 issues
No apparent problems here. Dual 2Ghz G5 rev.A and a 867Mhz 12" PowerBook.
I've held off updating the work machine (dual 2Ghz G5 rev.b) until I get back from a business trip. No loss of hard drive space or anything weird like what has been mentioned.
