iBubba: In case i missed it, how did the "little blue box" go over?
Our anniversary/Valentine's Day was awesome. I tried rushing home, but (as I have bitched about many a time in the past), traffic was not cooperating. While sitting in traffic, I realized I forgot wrapping paper so I had to duck into the nearest paper shoppe.
When I got home, all the lights were off, but every candle was lit - very very romatic! She was in the shower getting all foofoo smelling, so that gave me time to wrap her gifts.
We sat down on the couch - me in my work get-up and her in a terrycloth robe - and exchaged cards first. She wrote one of the most eloquent, heartfelt, loving Valentine's Day best wishes, and I actually got a bit teary! She opened her card, which she deduced came frm the smale area as the Tiffany's bracelet. I could tell she was "smelling blood", so I came up ith a cover story about earrings that were sold out, so her main gift was actually my second choice. Thankfully she chose the lesser of the two - the bottle of coca-smelling body wash and loved it.
She then opened the wrapping on the Little Blue Box. Immediate tears of happness and proclomations of being too spoiled, "I can't accpet this," etc., etc., etc. I convinced her to open the box, and when she removed the necklace from the box, her face was aglow with happiness.
Needless to say, there was much hugging and kissing. Regardless of what the Scrooges say here, I love Valentine's Day and I especially love the fact it is also our anniversary. This - by far - was the best one yet!
Glad to see everything turned out perfectly for you, even if you didn't get any. (you didn't say you got any, anyway)

Hey, I'm not the type of guy to kiss and tell all evening long after gift-giving on an anniversary that happens to be Valentine's Day!

I didn't get anything
and I'm being a Big Stupid Female about it by not saying anything to my husband, just tearing up everytime I think about it. Even my sister's smurf for brains teenage boyfriend got her stuff. I'm by no means materialistic and I know time is at a premium lately. But I made the time. Everyone seems to have done so but him. Heck, Valentine's is the day we got together in the first place so I'm doubly sore. In years past, he's always done really cool things. Dammit, I'm just going to shut my iBook and cry again. Hope he enjoys his Nerf gun...

Perhaps hubbie just feels its clear he's established a loving relationship and doesn't feel the need to be extra demostrative on this particular day. Whereas it sounds like NaN is looking for reaffirmation.

Does your girlfriend usually wear an engagement/wedding band?

Haven't we been through something like this before? That said, I wanted everyone to see a picture of my insensitive but handsome husband:

" Malkin "
Does your girlfriend usually wear an engagement/wedding band?
meaning that she ain't my gall? Yeah right. One ring was given by her family and the other is indeed the engagement ring i gave her 2 weeks ago. What is the point? Jealousy to make a comment on something that insignificant?
@nannyandnutro: Show a real selfshot picture not some web-pic of your sweetie...

You already gave her an engagement ring? You stated in your other post that she is your "new girlfriend".

Mac user has a history of claiming random people as his girlfriend. Alas the history is lost.
