Tip: iPod Shuffle and Windows 98

I really like how the iPod Shuffle acts as a thumbdrive, which is the main reason I bought one. I previously used a 16MB thumbdrive, but with half of the space allocated to data storage, my 512MB Shuffle has a lot more room. Anyways, for one of my classes at school I have to use a PC running Windows 98. To my knowledge, Windows 98 does not come with a USB mass storage driver and thus to use thumbdrives with it you have to download a driver for your specific model. I did this with my previous thumbdrive and it worked fine. However, when I plugged in my Shuffle today and it asked for a driver I figured that there would be no way to get one for it but with a quick Google search I fortunately proved myself wrong. Someone else had gone through the trouble of making their own Windows 98 driver for the iPod Shuffle. I just thought I'd give everyone a heads up.

Re: Tip: iPod Shuffle and Windows 98

Good to know.

I keep a collection of mass storage device drivers on CD because I never know when I'll have to access a machine with no internet handy. Thanks for the link
