Goodbye, Chimera?
Looks like Safari's success might be Chimera's doom. According to Mike Pinkerton's weblog (he's one of the lead developers of Chimera), he's ready to give up on Chimera due to Safari's overwhelming success:

(Read his entries for January 19 and 21.)
I hope this proves untrue. I still like Chimera...

Me too! I mean I have switched to Safari to help Apple (bug reports and so on) But Chimera still rules...

Although I am becoming attached to Safari, I appreciate the fact that Chimera is open-source. (*** cough -- as compared to Microsoft's "shared source" for one)

Just FYI, Safari is also open-source. It' uses the KHTML engine, which is also found in browsers such as Konqueror.
Personally, I'm sticking with Chimera. I'll give Safari a shot when it has tabbed browsing and keychain support.

I find myself switching between the two constantly. Some pages render better in Safari, but I miss a lot of the features of Chimera. I like 'em both about equally as it is.

Re: Goodbye, Chimera?
I dont really see the big deal about tabs, I perfer new windows, tabs seem to make the browsing experience not as fast. Or maybe it's just me. I can't see Chimera really living that much longer. Safari will be the #1 browser on the mac platform. period. If tabs prove to be the biggest reason of people not switching to Safari, they will be added, and rending pages will only get more and more accurate, remeber it's still a beta...
