3 more days until iLife!
I am assume the downloads will be available on Jan 25. What are you looking foward to. I want to try the retouch brush to see how well it really works. And I want to see how how easy/flexible the Ken Burns effect is. This will probably kill part of my weekend.

I am yet to master imovie but I think its time I got off my butt and gave it a go

Re: 3 more days until iLife!
I have iPhoto2 and iMovie3 for some days now.
iMovie3 is cool. Nice integration with iPhoto and iTunes. A bit better interface. Nice, realy nice. Its even easier than 2 was.
iPhoto is cool too. That 1click enhance is useful, retouch brush is not. I like the interface. CD burning doenst work like it should. Still better to burn with toast.
I still dont like the speed. It is a bit faster than 1 but not much. I have iBook 700 with 384 ram and its not plesant to work with it when you have 2k of photos in library.

I think I heard speculation somewhere that this is also when OS X will be updated as well. This being the case, I bet they will start shipping th 12" PB's on this date as well! We'll see :?: Could be wishfull thinking on my part though.

I'm anxious to get my iLife CD so I can play with the new iDVD. That won't stop me from downloading the others as soon as they're available!

Ive played around with iPhoto. The new sharing features are cool. You can now pick which email app you want to you, you can also burn to CD/DVD right out of the program. And the interface with your itunes library is flawless.

Re: 3 more days until iLife!
I can't wait for iMovie 3. I edit the short films put together by some of us in the youth group, and yesterday I was adding music to this week's film. It's actually the most music I'd ever added to one of our films and was a major pain. You have to find the song, convert it to an .aif, open up the iMovie package, go to contents>resources>Sound Effects and drop in the sound file. Then you have to reopen iMovie and go from there. Really, really, really, annoying process. I was thrilled to hear about how iMovie and iTunes work together so beautifully.

I'll wait a couple of weeks until:
1) The number of people downloading the iApps decreases, thereby improving bandwidth for the rest of us;
2) I have a chance to read all the various complaints and/or bug reports.

Aw c'mon, don't be ridiculous. It's not like Apple would release an app that could so something really bad like deleting your Home directory. I think your just being a little paranoid.

What's the Ken Burns effect? I searched on the site and all I got was a little caption to a picture.
Add the Ken Burns Effect to your digital photos
That doesn't really tell me much. Is it like panning and stuff?
iMovie 3 introduces the Ken Burns pan and zoom effect, which allows students and teachers to create movies without a digital video camera.
Ah, there's my answer. For those of you who have used it, how is it?

Re: 3 more days until iLife!
I'm excited about iMovie3. I've been scanning a mountain of old family photos, and have always wanted a Ken Burns-type effect. Now it's included for free! Yay.
iPhoto2 I'm less excited about. CD burning is good, but I would have liked scanner support. Ah well.

Re: 3 more days until iLife!
I can't wait either... I had ordered iLife from Apple's online store a week or so ago. Yesterday, I checked my order status and it said that I would be recieving it around 2-12-03... not soon enough! I cancelled the order, and will be making a run to the Apple Store at the Mall of America this weekend.
I can't wait!!!

screw the Super Bowl, because I have some videos I've been waiting to put on iDVD. Now with the new non-exporting sync, it'll be awesome.
Hello CompUSA. Since there's no Apple Store yet....

screw the Super Bowl ...
Hey! Are the new iApps being made available for download on the same day as the Super Bowl? If so, it kind of makes me wonder if a big Super Bowl commercial is in the works. Whaddaya think?

Whoa! Good point!
The Superbowl is Sunday and the iApps are available Saturday, though. I wouldn't rule out a commercial
PS: Anyone have a link to those OSX movies? I'd like to see them again.

I dont want this thread to be taken over by this but, IMO, its piracy because you took it without the owners permission.
Is it all that wrong? Not really. (IMO once again.)
to run OS X, you gotta mount your computer on it.

Re: 3 more days until iLife!
Take over MY thread?!? But I think I agree with you. Owner has the right to distribute the software whenever they want. Back to my thread...
I am really looking foward to downloading these programs and goofing around. I actually have a project that might be fun to try in iMovie, now that it can handle it, that I usually do in Final Cut. Here's hoping it can handle it.
Feel free to talk about either thread.
