Re: Judge throws out obesity law suit against McDonalds
At least in the two cases you put forth in this thread
a) the *entire* California judicial system is full of "blonde bimbos and proud peckers" and
b)It is illegal to drive with an open container of anything in the car.
You are wrong on both counts. If you know someone who asserts this bogus law, they are probally lying to you. Even if a cop were (but thats absurd) give a ticket for a law that doesn't exist, It would be instantly struck down in court and the law enforcement officer would be job hunting.

Uhh... I don't know about that KHannon. Cops can get away with a lot (in certain areas), I believe some refer to it as the "good ole boys" system.
I'm going to leave it at that.

Re: Judge throws out obesity law suit against McDonalds
That is an interesting thought to think about. However, that would require a pretty large network to be involved in this. Not to mention that if the ticket were challenged, the day in court would involve the police officer and the person ticketed saying what happened. If the cop testifies that he had an open sprite bottle or something, even if the judge were to say "ok" based on the "Good ole' boy" network, that would be evidence enough for either:
a) an appeal.
or
b) the DA of the area investigating.
I just think it is much more likely that the case described was either heard from a friend of a friend of a friend and got messed up somewhere, or it was fabricated/embellished.

I'm with KH on this one...and I think the good ol' boy thing is more of a southern deal.
