iLife delayed
According to macNN the retail CD might be delayed but imovie and iphoto should still be for d/l on the 25th.

As long as I can download, I'll be happy. I have to justify this DSL somehow.

My DSL screams down, bombs up.
On average (with a decent server) 90k/down, 15k/up. Ouch.

My cable internet in Long Island NY is really fast. I have hit a full mega byte per second download. Yeah, that's bYtes not bits. I downloaded a trial of PS 7 from Adobe which was about 72MB in about under a minute and a half.
up load is up to 1mega bIte per second.

Ha - your cable is as fast up as mine is down. I'm 256/128 with Adelphia. , for around $45/mo. The other day I called them up because the service was down (again) and I inquired about this new hardware that they were talking about installing over a year ago. The woman said they were hoping to have it all done by May. I asked if this new hardware would improve my downstream. She said no, but they would have 300-something bandwidth available for about double the price. Ha!!! Adelphia sucks.

Where are you getting your cable? Those speeds are a bit low.
3MB dl, 512k ul, $40 CDN a month.
I've seen ul speeds of 90k sec though, and I know their caps don't work right.

Who are you talking to? Me? Who's "you"? I'm in Ontario... I have a feeling you are talking to someone else so I'll stop talking now...

Cable in Canada totally rocks, which might make up for the fact that you are buried in snow for like 11 months of the year.

Yup! OptimumOnline has some sweet speeds. Currently, I am getting:
1.4Mbps D/L
0.9Mbps U/L
During daytime and busy hours, it falls to 768k D/L, but still it's well worth the $40 a month.

Re: iLife delayed
www.dslreports.com
2003-01-22 23:04:52 EST: 1207 / 125
Your download speed : 1207182 bps, or 1207 kbps.
A 147.3 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 125293 bps, or 125 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!
I think its about $50 a month, not sure since I get a lot of other services through cable too.
