My new iPod-Component level soldering-TiBook
I just got a first gen 5Gb iPod for $50, it worked when held right, so I took it apart, firewire port was unsolderered in multiple places/traces, so I soldered them back on, it reads fine on my PC and my bros iBook, my powerbooks firewire port however, is not operational, next weekends soldering, maybe i'll overclock as well.
so my iplans are:
linux on ipod
hack it to use a 250 gig ATA drive I got(either over the internal ATA cable, or firewire drive in ipod-linux)
powerbook 500 Ti:
550 overclock and fix firewire port

that sounds cool, for a second I thought you were gonna do some sort of case mod to your TiBook where you attached the iPod directly to it and could access its HDD...
