portable pci?

Is it possible to take a pci card and "portablize" it by means of a radio shack case, or a trip to frys? I'd like to use a pci audio card to firewire or even laptop pci (PCIMA? small bus card sized). Is this just not possible, will the hardware not recognize the "implant?" -Curious Joe

Re: portable pci?

I know I have heard something about a Firewire to PCI expansion chassis. But can't find anything right now.
