Actually, it is moving! Though I previously stated it was moving south, I should've typed north.

Re: Endless Snow for Thousands of Years?
The Mayan calendar has an "End of the World" date of Dec 21, 2012. Some people have interpreted this to mean that's when the world will end, and that there have been several "worlds" all lasting x years. In reality, Dec 21, 2012 is the date of some grand celestial event, something about the sun and Milky Way lining up in a precise manner and that is supposed to signifiy the start of a new age of achievement and change for humanity.

Re: Endless Snow for Thousands of Years?
As I understand it, on Dec 21, 2012, The Earth and Sun will align with the center of the galaxy and have an unobstructed view. There's supposed to be a black hole involved, and the Earth will be in between.
Something like this
Sun Earth Black hole
0 o (O)
So... whatever. I'm 26. If the world ends in 2012, that's not much time to have to work. If it doesn't... hey, apparently I'll have plenty of snow-cones. It's a win either way. Unless neither happens. Then I'll be pissed.

So wait, seriously. On December 21st, 2012, it will be the beginning of the age of aquarius? I didn't see that date written anywhere on that page.

No, the "beginning" of the age of Aquarius has been calculated at anywhere between 2060 and 2100. However, we may be slowly slipping into the age already, over a period of a few hundred years, as evidenced by our advances in science and the decline of the Church's ruling power.
The 2012 date was calcualted by the Mayans, while the Ages are related to the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans. They are different calendars, but are both based on the movement of the stars. It's interesting that these significant dates come within 100 years of each other though...
Now Rush, OTOH, has the date pegged at 2112, so who knows?

Well, not *precisely*, but the "Age of Aquarius" is going to happen around that time. Supposedly it's happening right now.
But it's all a bunch of hippy crap.
