Quark 6.1 "Get Image" issues
I've just switched my entire Production department to X.3 and along with it Quark 6.1. We store about 7,000 images on a server on the network. In quark 4 when browsing through the images was a snappy process... but now when I jump into a folder with 100+ images it takes SOOOO f'n long to scroll through them or if I know what the name of the images is and start typing the name, sometimes can take 2-3 mins before it jumps to the Image... any ideas on how to speed this process up?

First, upgrade to Quark 6.5. It's a free upgrade on their website.
See if that helps.
Also, which version of OS X.3 do you have? And what type of hardware?

Yeah, what OS is the image server running? And speed of network, etc.

That's just the sad reality of OSX...sluggish open and save dialog boxes and finder performance when accessing folders with lots of files.

That's what I'm figuring... I was kinda hoping it may have been a bug in quark, I have tried with 6.5, no avail... preview is turned off too. I'm waiting for my cumulus image cataloging upgrade, so until then, I guess I'll have to suffer. Thanks!

We've noticed this on our Windows 2000 server too. It's annoying but admittedly we had slower issues with 9X.

That's what we are running (win XP servers) anybody noticing a slowdown using a OS X server?
