Re: 4 Royal Canadian Mounties killed in marajuana raid.
That is pretty amazing and terrible. How the hell did four officers, on a raid no less where they're supposed to do the surprising, get surprised and overpowered?
Isn't it a bit too far north to be growing weed at this time of year? I thought La Ca

He propably had a deer rifle and a scope is my guess.
This guy was bad news from the start.
Damn, they should have been more cautious with this dirtbag.
I thought we had the market on this kind of violence.

Re: 4 Royal Canadian Mounties killed in marajuana raid.
They've been talking about decriminalization of possession, but I don't think they've done it yet. And it'd be small amounts; growing and distributing would still be controlled.
Also, they grow the stuff in hydroponic gardens. It's called a "grow-up." Cops bust 'em all over the place.
As to "this isn't supposed to happen in Canada ..." not sure where that comes from. Wish it were true.

Re: 4 Royal Canadian Mounties killed in marajuana raid.
I think the decriminalisation part means that simple posession under a certain amount results in a legal process much like a traffic ticket, rather than a full fledged criminal proceeding. The penalties for dealing, unlawful production, smuggling etc is supposed to get harsher.

This kind of complete disrespect for the law is inherintly American.
It's taught on the streets, TV and videogames that are today's babysitters.

As sorry as it is, dont blame video games, and TV. Personal responsibility is key. If you dont teach your children that harming another person is a last resort and ONLY a last resort, and that a game is just that A GAME then you are to blame for that child growing up into a monster.
I am saddened to see this happened, but don't blame stupid smurf for it. If that were true I'd be a 15th level Wizard, who could use Bigby's crushing hand to reduce you to a ball of goo.

Uh, this sort of crap has been in the North for as long as I can remember. And for many years before that, doubtless.

4 more pointless deaths in the never ending, stupid, drug war.
Lives should not be put at risk to keep people from smoking a doobie.

This didn't happen because someone was "smoking a doobie," it was a growing operation, which was probably run by organized crime.

Wow...so you actually don't care at all!
How completely unexpected.

By saying you're sorry this has moved north says you didnt care at all when it was in the US, jackass. Only when it crossed into Canada do you give a rats ass. Dumb and dumber... See my original post for clarification.

Re: 4 Royal Canadian Mounties killed in marajuana raid.
Hahaha, Shnicky, its called a "grow-op. You know, for opperation?
This is a very odd story. The four cops were left to guard the place. Why in the world would someone come back, see the cops there, and kill them? What possible purpose would this serve? He could have just fled instead, or at the very least just got busted for growing, as opposed to cop killing.
I could bore you with a philosophical tirade about freedom and tyranny, or try and explain to you what new horizons are suddenly open to me, but I doubt you would understand and if you did it might frighten you. That amuses me.

So what is the solution.
What WILL work.

That was a genuinely sincere statement?
I find that highly doubtful.

decriminalize pot as in amsterdam. Only allow it in such places (bars, coffee shops etc.) but not for personal consumption at home or 'off-premesis'
this would hinge upon a pedestrian/cyclist friendly city as you would not want a stoned driver behind the wheel. (same as a drunk driver, but that's a whole other topic)
then you could regulate it, generate taxes from it, etc...
Maybe im completely naieve, but it seems to work elsewhere.

Link? Legalized marijuana causes a drop in worker productivity?
