upgrading DA 466--need help.

Looking for info about squeezing a QS 933 proc. into my DA 466 machine.  I've read somewhere that you just have to supply 12V DC power but I can't find specific info online.  (I know 3rd party upgrades are easier to do, but I think I can get a really good deal on this QS processor and money is tight.)  Thanks!

Yeah, it works.
The 12v comes off one of the hard rive power cables... I forget which color cable ( yellow? ), but it's spliced then connected to the daughter card, by way of one of the screw dropouts. You can use either an eye connector ( and put the screw through it ) or a small dab of solder to more permanently connect it to the metal rim on the dropout.

I've seen it done several times with a 733 card ( which is easily clocked to 800 ), but not yet with the 933, tho I bet it would work.

BTW, good call on using a QS card, which, by the way can be much more economical than an equivalent upgrade card.

Thanks for the responses... which one of the screw dropouts?  And you can take the 12V power by tying into the yellow lead to the motherboard, right?  I think I'm going to give it a shot... built a "Dynaco Stereo 70" tube amp from a kit back in the early 70's so I should be able to do it (I think).  I've got a lot of ram in this old box so I think it's worth the effort.

Yep, it's the yellow, and you can use any of the dropouts, iirc.

BTW, let us know how it works out.
