If you can't say anything nice... tsk, tsk.

Really, we shouldn't have to hide behind the internet - if you don't want somebody to know your email addy, you're probably better off not communicating with them at all. Flame wars, private or public, are stupid and pointless.

As the song says, "Kill one, and you're a murderer.  Kill many, and you're a conquerer.  Kill them all, and you're a god.

I guess you have to kill everyone now.

Do you know how easy it is to set up an anonymous email address?  I mean, really - have you heard of hotmail, gmail, or yahoomail?  I'm pretty sure all of those can do forwarding, too.

Re: PunnBB and PMs

It's even easier to use a PM system that comes with forum software. It has the added benefit of an instant frame of reference whenever you get a message, you know it's from another forumite, and you know who it is.

Yeah, it can be a pain searching the forums to find out who emailed you.

No, the PM system 1) is subject to MAF's availability, and 2) is limited in space to MAF's system resources.

I didn't realized that MAF now encouraged registering with Hotmail addresses.

They don't - mods are not employees of MacAddict or Imagine Media. We are, however, ocassionaly desperate enough to recommend a microsoft product.

Re: PunnBB and PMs

But I agree that on-forum PM's do have their advantages. I also agree that it is not MAF's responsibility to facilitate (private) interpersonal messaging. Therefore, I think a system whereby PM's can only be sent to/from mods and admins would be preferable.
