Virex + Jaguar = Unhappy Mac

I cannot get Virex 7.0 to work.  I just got it (free download from school) and when I select diagnose or clean it will scan through 1 folder then just stop.  I try to scroll and I get the spinning beach ball.  What up y'all?  I'm running 10.2.3. evil

Virex takes a long time to scan stuff.

Sorry for posting in the wrong forum. 

BTW, I let it run last night and when I woke up this moring I got an error message that it unexpectedly quit.
