Verify or Repair permissions=black screen

Hi all, I updated my G3/266 MT from 10.1.5 to 10.2. after install if I try to verify or fix permissions my monitor screen goes black abut halfway though. i have tryed his from disk Utillity, from the install disk and from terminal app. Same thing every time. Any ideas on how to fix this? I'd like to update to 10.2.3 but untill i can get this problem fixed i think I am stuck in 10.2.

Updating to 10.2.3 with the 10.2.3combo update fixed the problem.
