Re: What's your ride?
i drive a rusted out version of this:
the damn thing is 27 years old and has 244,000 miles, yet it still runs great.
here's a recent pic from above and through a screen window that hides most of the rust:
"the bible is cooler than i thought.... most of the main characters get stoned!!!"
"let's get back to the good ol' days when the "opiate of the masses" was still actually opium." -me
"kids don't beat me. i beat kids." -HJS
the above post is proudly antihammer

Re: What's your ride?
My commute goes from Longmont to I25/120th. Unfortunately, there's an RTD terminal about a block from my house, and about a block from my work. The deal is that I need to take a bus from Longmont to Downtown Denver, then another back north to 120th. If only a bus would stop at the 120th PnR.

the front brakes were fine, but that master cylinder had more crap in it than I thought could possibly fit. it was completely thrashed, just from sitting. Rebuilding was not an option even if the kit was available.
yanked a cylinder off a 750 for about $45 and stuck it on instead of paying $300 (

Now that's using your noodle! Now that I think of it, my CX never had the sticking problem. They must've changed the design of the front calipers sometime in the mid-late 70s. Every CB500/550 4-cyl (hmm... four bikes total) I've owned was prone to both brake problems, caliper and MCyl.

Well, if I drive with my dad (I don't have my own car, and I Just got my driving permit) I use a 1996 Subaru Legacy Outback. Net little car.

There's a guy here that has a tricked out Pacer. It is bad ass. It is completely cherry, and it sits on chrome 20"s. Of course, his other car is a 2004 Lamborghini Murcielago. I'm very jealous.

Re: What's your ride?
Here is a pic of my Celica from April 1 2003, the day after it was purchased.
Here is how many miles I've driven it, how much gas I've put it in, how much I paid for the gas, and the average MPG for at each fill-up since I've owned it.
As you can see, the MPG seems to be steadily falling over time.

Re: What's your ride?
I'd like to make a PHP/MySQL app that tracks mileage and maintenance costs and can generate CSVs and Graphs.
I'd think it would be good for companies with fleets of vehicles they have to maintain. And for reminding people of their maintenance milestones. Stuff like "Hey! Your state inspection is in a month" or "Hey! You've driven 4,890 miles, about time for an oil change."
Good idea?

Re: What's your ride?
Sounds like a good idea to me. I do like charts and graphs.
I only included a portion of the record keeping I do for my vehicle since some people were mentioning fuel efficiency, etc.
MPG for my Celica over time...
Price per gallon of gas over time...
