Another iLife Topic (Sorry)
I saw another thread about iLife being delayed, and I went to Apple's site to see until when.
It doesn't say on their website. Where it used to say January 25th it just says "soon."
Ergh! I was looking forward to getting iPhoto 2 tomorrow so bad!

Hardware updates? Ergh! They're still not on the same day:
iLife has been delayed to correspond with the release of the new hardware, upon which the iLife applications will be pre-installed.
The new models will tentatively be announced the following week, possibly on Monday, February 3.
That is, if that's all to be believed.

Yeah, but how in the HELL does that make sense? It just looks like a missed deadline to everyone and the Damn new machine would have iLife anyway AND then they could have TWO unvieling days which means TWICE attention (Two mentions in TWO difference Curcuits sections of the New York Times and so on)...
I am upset too, but if they are delaying for hardware... I'll be livid, it makes NO SENSE...

I saw some other rumors site that said there was a problem with the Gold Master iLife CD's. But ThinkSecret says that Apple Stores already have them in stock, which doesn't make sense. Why would Apple ship if there was a problem with the Gold Master?
I'm starting to think all these rumors sites just make things more confusing

I know- Problems with the CD, so no Download... Um that makes no sense...
New hardware? what will it be a big suprise that the new imac runs iDVD, holy crap NO WAY? WHAT that makes no sense...
It is a problem with the SW or they want to add soemthing... or it requires 10.2.4 or something and that is behind or whatever... but I think all the sites are way off so far...

I just checked my order at the Apple store (again) and it has a ship date of January 29. One of the rumor sites has Jan. 31 as the ship/download date. Either way, I think I can wait another week. It gives me more time to dump some footage from a stack of DV tapes that I've never gotten around to doing anything with.

Look, What makes anyone here think that if new hardware were this close to being shipped that Steve-O wouldn't have announced them at MW? Steve isn't one to present a keynote and then quietly bump up the product lines with anything significant. He would have unveiled it at MW if there was something worth mentioning.
My bet is that after the Home Directory thing with Safari, they are scrambling to fix or double check some code in iLife. Either that, or it was just a typical Steve move to announce a product long before it's real life expected ship date.
Some people are just making way too much of this.

I just checked my order at the Apple store (again) and it has a ship date of January 29...
From the day I placed my order it has said expected to ship on or before Feb. 5.

Uh-uh. If he announced the release of future products it would kill they're sales between then and when the better products were announced.
