Super Bowl

Anyone gonna watch it, or have money on it? I may watch it just to see the Raiders get their asses kicked.

There's a commercial that's been on that's pretty funny. It starts out with text that says "The Raiders fans are coming to town". Then you see people locking car doors, closing stores, shutting gates etc. Then text that says "Not everyone is happy about this". I couldn't stop laughing.

Re: Super Bowl

I'll go with the Bucs but I really don't have a strong opinion either way...my team didn't make it blah blah blah....

I heard there was going to be a Hulk and The Matrix: Reloaded trailers...so yeah it'll be fun

Pretty confident, eh? Well, I live in St. Pete and I've known the Bucs to stink up the joint before. Besides that, history hasn't been too kind to Super Bowl first-timers.

I still hope they win. This guy on NPR said a good defense beats a good offense any time, and he picked the Bucs. Go Bucs!

Jeeze, I think that's a bit high. The commercials may be the best part, but still.

Football is probably the most fun to watch out of all sports.

Re: Super Bowl

I'm gonna watch it, probably while I'm doing homework. I would put money down on it, but I haven't followed football much this season so I don't really know about the teams. The commercials should be pretty good too.

I live in San Diego. I really don't have a problem with the Raider players themselves. It's the fricking annoying fans. I was walking downtown the other day and this gang of Raiders fans started harrasing a Bucs fan. I actually told them to stop. Of course they say a few choice words. I just told them that I don't go walking around Oakland saying how bad the Raiders are.

Re: Super Bowl

I've got $5 on the Bucs....even...no spread...with a friend, another friend who's already lost money to me on like EVERY Ohio State game--heheh--wants to make on giving me 4points....So, i may take another $5 there...heheh....On my bucs of course.

http://www.superbowl-ads.com/

If you wanna preview some commercials....  Apparently (see AAF, not gonna explain, heh)--there IS gonna be a sequal to the "Miller Light girls" commercial, as well as all the new Bud ones (see that web-site)--and some AWESOME movie trailers: Matrix, Charlies Ang. 2, Bad Boys 2!!! anger management and a bunch of others.... good stuff!

And the Bucs should win, they are just gonna out-physical Raiders.... and if I have to see ANY shots of ANY idiot raider fan....please, keep raider nation off the tv....we don't need it.

Not where Raiders fans are concerned. They aren't exactly nice, or law abiding and all that stuff, and btw, in at least one instance, a fan of an opposing team has been killed at a game by a Raider fan.

Re: Super Bowl

Am I the only one here who watches the Super Bowl solely for the ads?  I mean come on, we've got HULK, X2, Matrix, Charlie's Angels 2, and possibly Daredevil trailers, plus all the other product-related ads that always turn out to be damned good (they'd better be at that price  wink ).

I don't care about the football, just the ads.  And the pizza.

Re: Super Bowl

I am gonna watch it both for the game and for the ads, mostly for the game though. [slightrant]Now if Apple had bought a couple of slots the balance of my interest might have smurf towards the ads.[/slightrant]

Edited to add: I hope the Raiders win.

I'll be staying up late to watch it.  I've taken tomorrow off work so that I can sleep in (the show finishes at 03:00 here).

Re: Super Bowl

What a relief this thread is from all the football-haters down the page.

Well, i'm not a Bucs fan. Just a Raider hater.  big_smile

My sentiments exactly.  I like fans to be crazy, but nice crazy, like the Dawg Pound.  Dressing up and acting like thugs is not my idea of sportsmanship.  All teams' fans get crude once in awhile, but idiotic behavior seems to be practically a religion to Raiderfan.  (I know, I know, I'm generalizing, but it seems to be true more often than not.)

That said, I think the Raiders will win.  But I'm still pulling for the Chuck's Bucs.

BTW, somebody at AAF said that the Miller Lite girls are gonna have a new commercial.  Man, I hope that's true.  Gentlemen, start your VCRs!  cool

2) You don't have to be a fanatic to root for the home team or the underdogs big_smile

Today's headline in my local paper's sports page is, "It's a cream matchup: Will Raiders or Bucs rise to the occasion?"

I am not kidding! What does this mean?
