Hehe, I just found out, about 5 minutes ago, what teams were playing. Does anyone know what time it starts EST and what channel it will be on?

Re: Super Bowl

RAIDERS!  RAIDERS!  RAIDERS!  RAIDERS!  RAIDERS!

Obviously you guys have no idea what you are talking about.  Raider fans are not the criminals and thugs you make them out to be.  We Raider fans have gotten a bad rap because of some of the bad apples that every team has.  Every team has those fans who have a little to much to drink and get a little rowdy.  It's all an act.  Good fun.

Raider fans come in all shapes and sizes.  Doctors, attorneys, programmers, engineers, teachers, housewives and so on.  So for you to say that Raider fans (even the majority) are thugs and looters is insane.  You're basing all this on the perception of the media, who will hype up anything in order to make a good story.  People have been murdered at football games, hell a few people have even died on the field, but because of what happened at that San Diego game, the Raiders suddenly are the bad seeds of society.

So, of course, ignorance is going to cause a lot of you to talk out of butts, but hey, can't do anything about that.  I've been a Raider fan everyday of my life, my father as well, in fact he was the president of a Raiders Booster Club here in SoCal.  From what I remember, I've never been involved in any type of criminal activity because I'm a Raider fan.  To add more to that, most of the professional people I know are Raider Fans.  You may not like what some people do to release some steam, but that's not really up to you, is it?

Justine, your comments are just ignorant.

exoguyjoeb: I live in San Diego. I really don't have a problem with the Raider players themselves. It's the fricking annoying fans. I was walking downtown the other day and this gang of Raiders fans started harrasing a Bucs fan. I actually told them to stop. Of course they say a few choice words. I just told them that I don't go walking around Oakland saying how bad the Raiders are.

In case you didn't notice, that's what footballs about.  I get harrassed for being a Raider fan and it comes with the territory.  It's not like football is a sport for housewives (although housewives can get as rowdy as anyone I've ever seen).  You must be really uptight to get upset about Raider fans harrassing Bucs fans.  I even saw on the news the other day, several Bucs fans harrassing Raider fans.  So it goes both ways.

You know, I've known the MAF to be full of ignorance, but I can't believe my eyes today.  The level of idiocy is astounding.  It's no longer Think Different.  It's Think With Your Head Up Your Butt.

Oh well, I'll go watch the game with people who aren't cry babies.  I'll try not to loot or kill anyone.  And God forbid if I happen to pick on a little Bucs fan.  God knows they can't take it.

Re: Super Bowl

BTW, somebody at AAF said that the Miller Lite girls are gonna have a new commercial.  Man, I hope that's true.  Gentlemen, start your VCRs!  cool

Yeah.... I mean, i haven't found confirmation...but...The Rome (Show) thing the other day backs it up...  I think a tell-tale sign will be if we see the original very early in the Super Bowl....if we see the original towards the middle or end...then my hope shall dim.  But it makes sense, they HAVE shot a new one---why not slap it into super-bowl?

Re: Super Bowl

I just thought the commerical they had was funny. . .

Voiceover: "The Raiders are coming to town"
Then they show scenes of people locking their car doors, barricading the stores and homes, and mothers protecting their children.

Except your team has about 20,000 of them...wheras every other team has about a hundred...Well, save for Philly.

Besides, i just hate the Raiders in general.....  Well, ok, raider fan in general...but i have no love for  the raiders either....and there's a reason San Diego is scared there will be nothing left of their city...  And When people speak of being confronted by Raider fans on the streets...that often involves a pretty bad verbal beating, if not a physical one.

They are broadcasting the HyperBole in Australia, but NOT THE !@#$%^&*() ADS!

According to Aubrey's statistics the broadcaster has alienated 40% of the viewers; including this one.

I tried to watch the game just for the commercials but ended up leaving and going to sleep in a recliner.  Did I miss anything exceptionally good?

Re: Super Bowl

Well it started boring...then turned into a one-sided route....The halftime show was pretty good....except for the lip stinking Shania Twain....

Gladly they kept her out of the "REAL" show with No Doubt doing an excellent job of backing Sting...that was cool!

On the Football side it's becoming an embarrasment for the Raiders, I expected a much closer game........this actually sucks...I'm going flip to OZ  big_smile

Re: Super Bowl

Aha.  Glad to know I didn't miss a whole lot smile

Today's headline in my local paper's sports page is, "It's a cream matchup: Will Raiders or Bucs rise to the occasion?"

I am not kidding! What does this mean?

Maybe they meant "cream" as in "cream of the crop".. That's my best guess.

More likely they meant 'dream matchup' and just missed the 'D', I'd say smile

Re: Super Bowl

i dont care
but according to time magazine
54% of americans will watch the superbowl
40% of those say theyre tuning in "just for the commercials"
so much for sporting wefare!

What I find disturbing is that people are so controlled by corporations that they want to watch the corporations throw their products at them.

On the other hand, the commercials could simply be entertaining...

Bucs win!!  I wasn't cheering for any team though really. I was really happy to see 2 ex Minnesota qb's playing in the big game just because I hate Dennis Green so much(old Minnesota coach) he's such a fat bastard.

Dont get me wrong, I hate Denny Green as much as the next guy but both of those QBs sucked ass while in the purple and at least everyone knows Johnson is just average. Gannon is the most overrated player in the NFL.

Raiders crap
