kdx
How does this kdx work? Is it true that one of us could set up a server to enable us to use voice in our games w/o having to pay for ranger?
Can anyone tell me, what are the options to get vox into a game other than ranger?

Re: kdx
Yeah you can do those types of things. We used to do that back in the UT days when the old Roger Wilco VOX program first came out for Mac and ppl were itchin to try it.
I'd say go for it if you can get a reliable VOX program for OSX. Don't know if you can use it with Ranger too. I heard awhile back the owner was trying to prevent outside VOX programs from being able to work along with Ranger. Don't know if he ever implemented it tho.

I'm not sure about it working with gameranger either. I know that premium users are able to use it along with gameranger but i haven't tried it on a non-premium account.
I'd be willing to connect up with you on KDX if it does infact work and play some games. I'm trying to work on gettin a dedicated KDX server up so we can always have a place to goto when we play, but for now we could always direct connect.

Re: kdx
Hi Vir, I missed your post.
Non-premium members can not use kdx on ranger, we played a few kdx games by doing a a manual join to the host but IMO kdx proved to be pretty flakey.
However, everyone should check out my thread on SKYPE.

Re: kdx
The problem with skype is the fact that it hogs bandwidth. So for all you non-Hi-speed people out there, you won't be enjoying the experience that much. With KDX, which is free also, you can control the voice transfer rates so its alot more dial-up friendly, not to mention the Silence Suppression that comes in pretty handy. I'm not to keen on hearing a constant signal or someone elses background noise while i'm playing. If Skype had that feature i would be all over it.
