Am I the ONLY one with these UT2K4 problems...... :-/
Maybe I'm cursed. Maybe someone is playing some mean jokes on me, but using the 2K4 demo I've always had the following problems:
- When loading a map, there is no pre-game loading picture, just the text
- In the server menu section, I can't 'menu click' to bring up a floating menu like for PC's, where you can add people, add favorite map, etc. I've tried every type of combination click I can think of. I can't get rid of old favorites because of that, or add buddies.
Please someone save me :-/

Well it has beenso long since I played the demo I'm not 100% sure how it behaved but
1. Look at your User.ini file in ~/Library/Application Support/Unreal Tournament 2004/System folder. Search for [GUI2K4.UT2K4ServerLoading]. Beneath it you should see
Backgrounds=2k4Menus.Loading.loadingscreen1
Backgrounds=2k4Menus.Loading.loadingscreen2
Backgrounds=2k4Menus.Loading.loadingscreen3
Backgrounds=2k4Menus.Loading.loadingscreen4
with perhaps the fourth line commented out with a ";". Those are the loading screens in the file 2K4Menus.utx that is in the Textures folder of the UT2K4 package. If you do not see those lines or the [GUI2K4.UT2K4ServerLoading] line you can add them to your User.ini file and see what happens.
2. As to the cotextual menu I do not remember if that worked in the demo. Can't help there.

The contextual menus work for me in the retail version.
...having nothing in them of the feelings or principles of '76, now look to a single and splendid government of an aristocracy, founded on banking institutions and moneyed incorporations under the guise and cloak of their favored branches of manufactures, commerce and navigation, riding and ruling over the plundered ploughman and beggared yeomanry. -- TJ
