Re: When you ban a person from a forum...
Let's review my previous two bannings while we are at it
Here's what i was banned for:

Obviously they should be gassed.
... or at least run over with automobiles.
I was told I went over the line by threatening homosexuals with violence. Of course, what they were banning me for was a sarcastic comment made by bedstuy. The original post went:

... or at least run over with automobiles.
Even after I explained this and gave them links to the posts, they refused to even talk to me about it, much less apologize for banning me or accusing me of something horrible that I didn't do.
Then they banned me a second time when after a discussion about moving to blue or red states based on your political affiliation, I popped the question as to why people who think the US oppresses their lifestyle, don't just move to Canada. I was told asking this question was demanding gay people leave the country, when it was clear from the topic this was directly related to a topic on moving to blue and red states after the election and an recent surge of gay-rights topics.
I was actually banned just for asking this. Worse of all, they actually used my LAST BANNING as part of a reason to do it!! After it was made clear they made a mistake, they still did it.
Oddly enough, another poster asked the EXACT same thing as I did, not only was he not banned, but the topic remained just as a regular topic.
At least in these two instances, I was given a reason for it, though they were completely false.

Yes, as a moderator of one of the largest forums on the internet, I at least give the most obvious of trolls a reason for their banning.
For regular posters, I have the decency to discuss any issues with them long before the staff determine a banning is necessary. It is only done because the situation couldn't be resolved, the person wasn't sorry for their actions and after giving them an opportunity to prove themselves when the rules were made clear to them, had gone and hanged themselves.

Well, that's settled then. I'm glad you agree.
All that fuss and it wound up to be just that simple. Who'd have guessed? Any more confusion we can clear up before I go? I don't log in all that often, and I'd hate to miss any of this one.

Justified what in my own words?
I said that even the worst of the worst, the most obvious of trolls, get reasons and explanations behind warnings, edittings or bannings. What I am justifying in my own words?

This is a good question. What if I (not hat I would) said someone or some groups should be gassed but I was actually being sarcastic?

Re: When you ban a person from a forum...
Can any of the moderators actually tell me what I did that merited a permenant banning from minithink?
Please don't tell me it was because of my history because I laid out the mistaken and unfair circumstances of my last two bannings.

The combination of what was outlined above, your history and your ongoing misbehaviour.

Re: When you ban a person from a forum...
I've read this thread (mostly), and I don't spend a lot of time in Minithink, but personally, I don't see what was said that is such a bannable offense. If there is more to the context that is not posted in this thread, I understand. But from what has been said, and/or quoted so far, I just don't see it.
I myself am just to the right of center. Most people are okay with that, but even I have been accused of being a gay-bashing, bible thumping, conservative. Go figure.
That is part of the reason why I tend not to go into Minithink any longer.

That makes no sense.
I said at least, which is changes the meaning of the statement.
What is meant is that the worst of the worst at least get a reason for their banning on other forums. Meaning, if that is done for the worst offenders, then clearly non-trolls should be treated better or at least the same.

Everyone here can clearly see what statements I made and their context. They are not really offensive, especially in comparison to the blatant trolling that is allowed.
Please don't tell me it was because of my history because I laid out the mistaken and unfair circumstances of my last two bannings.

You haven't offered your side of things.
I'll post the email I was sent in 24 hours on my first ban, giving you time to tell me not to if you'd prefer the truth not be known.
I can show you what was sent and what was received and let people know what is said is entirely accurate. That you go so far as to ban people for things they don't even do. Then ban them again for something someone else did immediately afterwards. Then ban them for statements made which really aren't offensive, on a forum where blatant flamings and trollings go ignored by the staff on a regular basis.

You weren't banned, you've simply been relocated to a free speech zone.

Why not just admit that you don't want conservative view points on Minithink?
Isn't it just a *little* odd that the conservatives always seem to end up banned? You do whatever is necessary to get rid of them, either to make a few whining posters happy or because you can't stand to see them yourselves.

Why is this discussion/debate/argument even continuing in the forum? Shouldn't this be a private matter, since it isn't about banning in general, but a specific persons beef with being banned?

Other posters should be aware that the staff here will actually make up reasons to ban people.
Notice how the staff don't even defend their actions?
They know they've banned me three times without any reason to.
My view is if they are going to make it public that I'm not allowed to post on minithink, then I should say my bit and show that I'm not a troll- I'm just one of many conservative posters the staff ban, while being intellectually dishonest about how 'fair' they are.
