Re: printing seps

We have a screen writer 3. We are have freehand and illustrator. We are doing spot. Like we sep some stuff out in photoshop, bring it into illustrator then like add some vector then go to print and set it up to screen writer 3 we go down to the sep part and its like we can do anything!

this is for ilustrator. Pretty self-explanitory. It is in the output section where you tell the app to print in composite or seps.

Re: printing seps

It seems you have no postscript printer selected.

Mine only disallowed local seps when I selected my deskjet 1200, but worked fine on my Xerox docutech.

Re: printing seps

I shoud have asked what version of illustrator. This was CS. I don't have postscript printer here either but you can print into a postscript file which you can distill in acrobat to get your seps.

Re: printing seps

Why do you need seps if you have no printer capable of rotating the screens?

Proofs, perhaps?

<sarcasm>I hear that some clients actually still supply seps to the printer some times!</sarcasm>

Re: printing seps

ok i think i figured it all out, we dont have CS we have 10 and i was working on anoher job yesterday and i brought up that window and stuff but ya we always sep out of freehand, i know kind of gay but we are still on 9 here people. This company is behind on software, they have tons of g4s and g3s tho soo its nice and the networking and stuff but just old, and come on lets get seriously the screen printing days are over mexico its like 3 dollars to a buck 50. Soo its hard to see putting more money into the art lab if they arent ruling the market!
