village idiots stage protest at Apple HQ

Friends,
Just wondering if anyone's done any research into these losers who were protesting at the Apple HQ during a shareholder meeting.  The obvious link ... too obvious IMHO ... would be Redmond payroll robots.  Or a splinter group of some lost Luddite group.  What a bunch of babboons.

b

PS- I should apologize.  That was a nasty thing to say about babboons.

Re: village idiots stage protest at Apple HQ

Or maybe just people who want Apple to adopt a certain policy.

You know, it actually is possible for people to dislike certain aspects about Apple without being paid by Microsoft, you know. It's called not being a mindless drone.

Maybe they're overreacting, maybe not; they're entitled to their views.  Just because I like apple's products doesn't mean they're capable of no wrong.

Absolutely and they do make bad decisions; i.e., abandoning OS 9!

This seems like a pretty silly thing to protest.

You have to field strip the thing to swap the hard drive, the CPU isn't upgradable, and neither is the graphics card (PCI-bus Rage 128 with 8/16 MBs of VRAM, doesn't support Quartz Extreme, afaik.)

Also, some of the base models (350/400 Mhz) didn't have Firewire.

You know, the usual complaints about iMacs. tongue

Plus, without a fan, the tops got pretty hot, they relied on convection to cool, so you can't put stuff on top, and they probably (speculation!!) have a higher failure rate and shorter average lifespan because of the higher operating temps.

For the record, I actually have seen and used a Flower Power iMac, and swapped the HD in it. It was actually pretty cool looking, and I wouldn't mind using one. In fact, if I ever have money and find on cheap on eBay, I'd probably buy it.

Re: village idiots stage protest at Apple HQ

Valid complaints, I suppose. I tried to get the case off one time, but couldn't do it. Kinda scratched it up a good bit, too

I use the hot top to warm my hands in the winter. It's a feature, not a bug. tongue

Depends on your definition of "good". Nine was a crash happy, outdated, patched up mess.

It's a gay-straight luddite alliance! The Rainbow coalition would be proud of you, CD.

OS 9 worked, but compared to X it's crap. I've compared it to Windows 98 before, and I stand by that now.

open your eyes! OS 9 is a MESSSS!

my point ... Apple was the first personal computer manufacturer to put a recycling program in place.  so why target Apple?
