Problem with Photoshop and modifier keys

They stopped working.  The space bar no longer toggles the hand.  Shift key + resize won't maintain proportions.  Shift key + marquee no longer constrains to square selections.  The command key no longer toggles the move tool.  The option key no longer works with the rubber stamp to sample a cloning area.  The list goes on and on.

This is bad.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Problem with Photoshop and modifier keys

This happened to me as well. I took my machine into work and used it on our windows network. Both Photoshop & Illustrator had the problem, although now that i'm home it seems fine, so either restarting or logging out seems to work. The only thing i can think of is that when i was at work i opened Microsoft's Remote Desktop Connection (which works really well by the way) to connect to my WinXP PC. There are settings in RDC to use modifier keys to correspond with right-mouse buttons etc. Perhaps a bug somewhere causes this to be a system-wide change of some sort. This is the only thing i can think of. I've never had any other trouble with adobe stuff in X, but it seems to have righted itself now.

Re: Problem with Photoshop and modifier keys

I saw that happen the other day but I noticed that it was all still working right. The icon wasn't changing but it still functioned as I expected it to. A restart fixed it for me as well.

Re: Problem with Photoshop and modifier keys

Come to think of it, the problem did start when I opened a file from a Win2K machine on our network.  Even connecting to another computer can set off the bug.

For me, it's not just an cursor issue.  The functionality goes away, too.  So if I'm painting with the brush and Option-click to sample a color, it still makes a mark with the paintbrush.
