Dammit! I am not a totaly flake, contrary to many of my posts re:WoW. I need to do a better job of researching, I guess.

Well, I put in 10 hours solid on this character, so I think I will play the bad guys for a bit...

My heart is with the MAFers, if not my character.

The more time you put into it now, the harder it is going to be to give it up. I suggest restarting ASAP.

Basically, it's this: For every level you put into your Orc, that's another level you have to put in your Alliance character.

If you haven't already, everything you could possibly want to know about our guild is contained in the stickies at the top of the forum. Our rules, ranking system, members, and lots of other stuff are all there, and everyone should read it after joining.

So here is the deal...

I piddled around with the Warlock class and really didn't find it all that appealing. Paladin was rather icky, IMO. So, for now, I am playing a female Dwarven Huntress named "Dorabel" - mostly because the class suits my gameplay style (DII:LoD as a bowazon was my favorite game until now).

She is level 9 right now and currently a (70)miner/(38)blacksmith.

Whisperwind is our Alliance server, Boulderfist is our Horde server (in case Whisperwind is down). This info is in the Toons thread with the list of officers and our char/toon names.

At least I am good for something, even if it is being humorous (albiet I am not trying to be funny) sad Can I transfer my character to the approprate server?

nope, there's usually only a character transfer available from a high pop server (such as ours) to a low pop, not vice versa.

Along these lines, is there any advantage to moving our guild to one of the lower population servers? However I usually like having extraneous people around. The frequent random acts of kindness, like an unexpected buff, are nice.

The biggest advantage would be less lag in heavily populated areas. Lower population can be a bad thing, too, if you're trying to find a group. And from what I've seen, a lot of the low pop servers actually have MORE server instability problems than the high pop ones roll

not to mention how many connections the higher-level peeps (such as myself) have with other guilds on our server. i'm good friends with at least 2 other major guilds and random people from guilds that i've had along on runs... it's just not feasable for our guild. and really, the lag isn't that bad except in ironlag itself or when my moron roommate is d/l something at 450 k/s... hmm

How much RAM do you have Tracks? I've got a couple low level alts on WW, and the lag isn't too bad for me in IF with 1g.. after the intial texture load of course.

my pc has 768 ram, and a 9700 pro graphics chipset... the slow point is my ancient mobo/processor, a 1.4 p4. i recently bought an extra 256 ram (to bring it up to 768) and that made a big difference in a lot of things.

Yeah, I recently went from 512mb to 1g and it made a huge difference in WoW, thats why I asked smile

i still am because i have no money to upgrade anything. i'm a bit more concerned with paying off my debt from school, paying rent/phone bills, and eating tongue

WoW actually saves me money, amusingly enough. were it not for that, i'd be going out to the bars at least 2 nights a week, and dropping ~30 bucks each night. that adds up in a hurry
