Re: How do I become a "Mac person"?
Of all the sites listed, XLR8yourmac by far is the most important. If you wanna be a hardcore Mac user who isn't afriad to get technical, its a MUST. We're talking the elite with XLR8yourmac, overclocking, case modding, hardware hacking, bios flashing fun.
Not to insult anyone, but Mac users are a fairly untechnical bunch of users. Most Mac users use the Mac for simplicity so it goes with the field, simplistic users.
I hate to say it but if you're looking to out geek PC users quoting the latest benchmarks to assert the Mac's superiority over the Win crowd, its not gonna happen. As of current Apple is more than marginally behind in the speed game, but there is hope in the future.

Outgeek PC users? Nah. Actually, in my life, all the PC users that I'd ever want to outgeek tend to be software engineers and hardware engineers. As I'm part of that part of nontechie folks...never gonna happen.
I think the goal of any computer user should be able to speak intelligently about their machines. That's all. Along those lines, I completely agree that the hardware site is among the more important in the list.
