Recording Music & Such
Hey! I'm looking to record a demo CD for the band I'm in. I need help foinding out what I need to record some songs. Basically, all I need to do is be able to record guitar, bass, microphone tracks. I don't need any features other than the ability to record those and maybe move some audio segments around without rerecording. I need to know what software and hardware I need to do this. Thanks!

If you're looking to try something out on the cheap and you have a Mac that can still boot into OS 9, check out Pro Tools Free. It's the free version of Digidesign's recording software (the industry standard). The free version only gives you 8 tracks (4 stereo), but can deliver pretty good sound if you hook up a mixer and a decent microphone through the audio input.
Good luck.
