Re: BRAC - How did your area fare?
Well, since this thread, BRAC has placed Oceana Naval Air Station on the review block. Closing Oceana would be a huge blow to my city (Virginia Beach); I'm hoping (of course) that it gets spared.
The BRAC commission is touring Oceana today. I hope all ends well.

My brother and brother in law are both at Whiteman, looks like the A-10's and B-2's live to see another day.

Re: BRAC - How did your area fare?
Good, close more bases, we don't need them. The Air Farce in particular has a huge number of bases, and they spend a ton of money on all of them. Lets take the money and use it for better things, like armored HMMWVs maybe or better facilities at other bases. Everyone always moans and whines that they don't want a base in their area to close, boo-friggin hoo, things change, job security is not a basic right.

Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, GA - Gain.
But we already knew this as they are the largest employer here and we are up-armoring M-113's and Humvees.
All of the damaged vehicles come here for rebuilds and repair.
