i agree id rather go with information around here than some stupid magazine. that may test the product for a week then write a review.

The Colt Vista got rave reviews from Consumer Reports in the late 80's.
Lots of people including my parents bought one based upon those reviews.

Turned out to be a trash car.

so did they upgrade to a Yugo?

No - they went a used Toyota 4 Cylinder van - after that, I convinced them to buy American - and they went with a Chevy van (which was, um, made in Canada) - Astro, with the truck chasis (I think all Astro's had a truck chasis, not sure though)

Re: People on these forums who give purchasing advice

For what it's worth -- I've gotten a lot of good advice on this here MAF in the few weeks I've actually been using it. Buying advice, technical advice, freeware and shareware to solve problems that I could have spent hundreds on solving some other way.

So, I'll continue to ask for advice on the MAF when I think I need Mac Advice.

That isn't the same as saying I've been assimilated. I won't surrender my free will to the forum, but it remains a good resource. Lots of smart, nice, helpful people. Besides, football season doesn't start for three months, and this is the only place where I can watch honest, open belligerence and laugh like hell at it for free.

Let me qualify that just a little. I know my chosen sport is considered barbaric by some.

Sure it has unnecessary roughness, taunting, deliberate late hits, and piling on -- unlike the NFL which also has facemask penalties.

eek
