My Computer in the Dark/Cool Pics Pt. II

I was just looking at my computer in the dark while it slept and I thought it was pretty cool, so I took a pict!  Anyway, I enjoyed the Sunset thread so much and since there still isn't a gallery  ( wink hint hint) I thought I'd post this pic and invite others to do the same, just cool picts...  no other theme...

give us a shot w/ the lights on so we can compare.
or better yet, dont and let us guess what is what. we can make a game of it.

Rozzlapeed:I remember hearing that Gen. Horner, CENTCOM commander in Gulf War I, is one of the signatories. I think we can trust his point-of-view to an extent.

Well, I see the keyboard, the mouse, and the powerstip beneath the desk. Are the green thingies the speakers? Is the blue thing above the monitor some sort of external drive? And what are the blue lights right below the monitor?

Well, I see the keyboard, the mouse, and the powerstip beneath the desk.

Correct, Correct, Correct...

Are the green thingies the speakers?

Bingo, JBL Creatures indeed...

Is the blue thing above the monitor some sort of external drive?

You bet, OWC 7200 rpm 120Gig ElitePro, Baby!

And what are the blue lights right below the monitor?

Well, that one is going to be hard, but I can't tell you that, it isn't somethign that usually lights up, in fact when I bought it, I had no idea it did, just sort of does...

You got a 15 inch flat panel with a Cube.

Nope and Nope...

No, he obviously has a G4 tower. wink The external drive is sitting on top of it; you can see it lighting up the little latch.
and it looks like a 17 inch apple display, though I'm not sure.

Yup, the original Dual 1Ghz PM G4...  (slower bus and all!)

Nope, it is an Apple display though...

The methods of science are manifestly effective, having made massive humanitarian contributions to society. It is this very effectiveness which the purveyors of mystical philosophies attack, because they recognise in it the chief threat to the belief-based source of their power and financial reward. -Harry Kroto,  Nobel Laureate

No the Original MicroSoft Optical Explorer USB, to get the lights to show up in the dark I had to leave the shutter open a little long, which amplified all the light a little...

Congrats. Are you proud to be "addicted to this place" now? wink

So what was the weird thing under the monitor? Or are you still waiting for someone to guess?

doh!

Mistook a stack of books or a bookshelf or something for a cube!

You aren't supposed to orient your computer behind your monitor sideways unless you want to confuse me silly.

So does anyone here have a Cube?

H-Yeah! Not going to put it on my Business card or mention it on dates, but yeah, I'm proud to be an addict!

So what was the weird thing under the monitor? Or are you still waiting for someone to guess?

It is a USB Hub, I suppose the world's most uselessly bright one, but a USB hub none the less...  it just lights up, doesn't even say if there is a device or anything plugged in or whether it is transfering, just lights up.  It looks cool I guess, I just bought it cause it was cheap...

I got it at RCS Computer Experience in New York City, but it is just a Targus USB Hub, so you can probably find it online...

Re: My Computer in the Dark/Cool Pics Pt. II

I don't know if all the interest in this USB HUB is serious, but here is a link to a spot to buy it at, for it's size, I think $19 is a good price...  It doesn't have an AC adapter, so you won't get too much power from it, but you can get an adapter for it I think...
