How many systems have you been through?
How many OSes has your current computer been through?
What computer holds your personal record?
My powerbook has gone from 10.2.0 to 10.3.9, so only one major upgrade, but I would imagine some of the older G4 Powermacs have been through quite a bit.
Perhaps this tells how long the macs last in time in a technological sense. Yeah, my parent's cousins have been running a Gateway on Windows 98 for 5+ years now, but how long can a PC stay up-to-date OS and software-wise compared to a Mac? Post below your own experiences:

Re: How many systems have you been through?
My Mac started with Puma and now has Tiger. I used Jaguar and Panther in between.
My PC has had Windows, Fedora, and Gentoo. But that's not what you're asking, is it?
Edit: forgot my old Power Mac. It went from 7.5.something to 9.1 before being replaced by my Quicksilver G4.

Re: How many systems have you been through?
My Sawtooth came with 9.0.4. I upgraded OS 9 through 9.2.2. Then came 10.1 through 10.4.1. I have also run 4 or 5 different Linux distros and OpenBSD 3.3 through 3.7. I think the greatest number of bootable OSes I had installed at one time was 4 - SuSE 7.0 and 7.1, OS 9.2.2, and OS X.1.
Patience is a virtue of the weak for it makes them stand still long enough for the strong to crush them with ease.

Re: How many systems have you been through?
My iMac G3 has gone through every Mac OS from factory installed 8.5.1 to self installed 10.3.8. That's six years worth of OS upgrades and it's still chugging along.

Re: How many systems have you been through?
Since the Frankintosh was built ( just two months ago ) I have only run 10.3.
The iBook Clamshell came with 9.2, but is now happily running 10.3 as well.
All posts on the internet are postfixed by an invisible "IMHO". It's not in the html code, either.

Re: How many systems have you been through?
Beige G3 (now G4)
8.1 - 8.5/6 - 9.0/1(etc) - 10.0 - 10.1 - 10.2 - 10.3 (10.4 in the future mayhaps)
I still argue these machines are some of the best (techincally) made machines ever by apple.
I also had a linux phase around 10.1/2 where I tried redhat and gentoo on the same box. I almost installed os x server 1.2 as well, but decided against it when I read into it more.

My current computer started at 10.4.0 and is now up to 10.4.1.
My previous Mac, however, ran 9.0, 9.1, 10.2, and 10.3 before it was finally retired.

Re: How many systems have you been through?
PowerBook went from 10.3.2 - 10.4.1 with all updates in between
eMac went from 10.2.8 - 10.3.9 with all updates in between
PowerMac went from 10.1 - 10.3.9 with all updates in between. Actually, the PowerMac is was 'new' a few months back when I got it (it was in a store unopened) so that was the OS at that time.
I think out of them all, 10.3 was the nicest.
MacBook 2Ghz, 4GB RAM, OS X 10.6.1
12" G4 1Ghz PowerBook, 768mb RAM, OS X 10.4.11
